Intentional Truth

“You never have anything to lose by being yourself.” -My Mother

My Mom holds and expresses many forms of beauty, but these words will forever have a special place in my heart. It’s true, we will not lose anything by being ourselves, we can only gain truth, genuine reaction and inner peace. In a world full of temptation and persuasion holding on to our true selves is an art. In a world full of people, choose yourself and let the rest adjust. When you walk in your aura of uniqueness – that only you have the magic of, you are most powerful.

Speak clearly and release your truths, be attracted to what gives you sensual feeling, love yourself toughly – this means to pick yourself up when you feel discouraged. Give yourself all the encouragement you need in the places only you know you really need. You know the change that needs to be done in order to be you, to feel good and most importantly to be easier on yourself. You are fearsome when you are open. Not only enthralling but inspirational. Show others how easy it is, with or without acceptance to be unapologetic for who you are… what your style is, how you feel, who you love and anything else that makes you a walking portfolio of all things that fill you.

By being yourself is to be vulnerable. Vulnerability alone has been a challenge for me most of my life. Although vulnerability has given me some of my greatest reward and experience, it feels like a risk. I suppose it is – but what is life without it? Let vulnerability ignite you instead of scare you. This is what makes you human – and in other words… fascinating.

This isn’t an easy task to take on. Showing up in exactly who your heart and soul tells you to be is like walking into a place and silence. Eyes are on you. Judgments are being made. Words expressed. Thoughts held. Remember this one thing… You will carry on. And you will do so in luxury.

Allow yourself to love yourself.

“What is done in love, is done well.” -Vincent Van Gogh

“She writes things with her movements that I for the life of me could never write with a pen.” -Christopher Poindexter

Come morning I stretch my body in the length of my bed. The natural light is my motivation to rise. Another day. The warm water runs down my skin and I become ready in the present. Breathing alive. I don’t have to part my lips to explain my truths. I embody them.

We all embody something.

My proudest truth that I embody is all the admiration that lives within me. Throughout the day I find art – in movement, in silence and in noise. I soak in my environment and love cultural differences. I want to taste everything and appreciate the familiar or the uniqueness. I find myself dancing to all music and singing in languages I have yet to understand. I am a living sponge, absorbing all.

Judgement closes opportunity. Judgement can be a dangerous and false pathway. In order to find the truth in a setting, person or story – you must experience it for yourself. Dig to the roots, find the reason, listen to the noise. Most importantly, admire and wish to learn the unedited version. The raw version.

“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, “Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner.” I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.” -Carl R. Rogers

The craft that something is made with is miraculous. Difference itself is an intense force. I feel for this. There is a certain truth I cannot get enough of… Honest depth, true emotion and genuine intention is the core of attraction.

Some people, places and emotions are so beautiful it’s hard to assign words. Do yourself a favor. Let all of it take your breath away.

Remember these moments. Seek them more. Be the truth you wish to find. Admire by closing your eyes or opening your eyes. Hold on tight and let it embody you. Let it all sink in. The amount of words you thought you needed to explain… the amount of change you thought you desired… the judgement you placed… it can all drop to a breathtaking zero.

Courageous Illumination

Be with me because I am with you…

JOURNAL ENTRY

February 4th

It’s interesting, sometimes I write to get out of my head and sometimes I write to get into my head. Tonight I do not know which I need. Some nights I become more anxious than others. This is when I pray for courage – faith becomes present and I understand again. Purpose is real while coincidence is not. Reason is held by what we experience and the experience itself is filled with reason. Sometimes this makes me uncomfortable, sometimes I rather stay in and hide from all existence. It’s in moments like this that I pray for courage. Courage to relax. Courage to continue. Courage to express. Courage to release. Courage to be. Courage to step out. And courage to illuminate –

A moment of silence follows where my pen has stopped… I sit back and look at the word I had just written.

Illuminate… I am taken back as I know this was not the word I was planning on writing.

Whenever I pray for courage I think of the last conversation I had with my father before he committed suicide. We joked about the kind of man he would like me to grow up and be with.. I listened to stories I’ve never heard before as we sat together eating Chinese take out. He looked at me and told me if I ever feel like I am falling down to pray… He said I will give you all the courage you need. I didn’t know then what I do now, that in that moment he was telling me, to trust in his guardianship.

For a long time I’ve had a hard time expressing myself openly. Although it is a passion of mine and a need like breathing, I create in silence.

Tonight I was creating in silence until he wrote. Illuminate…

Illumination is defined by throwing light upon, making something brighter, it is to decorate with gold and silver. Illuminate by illustrating, enhancing and highlighting. Illumination is to be intellectually or spiritually enlightened… and that I am.

To illuminate is to be seen.

To illuminate is to be heard.

To illuminate is to be a flood light showing others that they too are in view of admiring eyes and they too are being listened to.

That they too will be blessed with courage.

Sunday Best

Where your treasure is – your heart will be also. Each day of the week I focus on walking in faith… In my waking hour I thank God for another day. A deep breath in and a long exhale, I rise.

We all have something within us that is ready to radiate. A beauty, an art, an actual energy. The best part about this is we have a choice to wake up and be a steward to this blessing.

Sunday will forever be my favorite day of the week – not just because I begin the day surrounded by others who devote themselves to our Lord but because it’s the day that my soul feels most alive. In one day, the week prior comes to rest and the week ahead comes alive. I reflect and I rejoice.

Balanced.

Today and this week, dig deep and let your inner being float to the surface. Allow yourself to step into the blessing you are. See and feel your authenticity rushing through your veins and radiating into existence as something to feel.

You are felt. You are worth it. You are loved. You are beautifully made. Now rest – in your Sunday best.

“I am going to make everything around me beautiful – that will be my life.” -Elsie de Wolfe

Standing in the middle of a city, I am one with noise and distraction in every direction. Can you imagine finding peace in the middle of chaos? Footsteps follow my thoughts and I am in a world of my own, yet here to share it with others. Looking within and past my reflection, I see artists moving slowly and accurately in their own craft. Electrifying music escapes into the air around me and the sensual view is taken in. A studio of creators, a place to safely express and room to strive.

There is zero pressure here. Like the others, they too have something to share. I make my way into this life by beginning to create. I enter a space everyday whether I enter it as one or with others – I enter.

I stand for authentic movement. True connection. A pathway to be our most passionate selves. I stand for a home to feel in accompany with others and most importantly my own heart, mind and soul.

I write here today, to share with you. As I begin Studio Strive you will experience a place of expression, connection and the art of soulful interaction.
