Dear God

Your existence welcomes, slowly but surely there is rising light that enters and fills my atmosphere. Good morning. As I lay without rush, I stretch my body and feel the waking of a new day. In full contentment and messy hair, I focus on the one thing I admire most. The song I hear. A hymn. Poetry and prose. The tree outside my window is a gathering place for morning conversation and devotion. The birds rise and praise the life they’ve been given with grace. Through all conditions they continue to rise, they continue to sing. They continue to remind me of the simple offerings that can be taken as reminders that we are living in a world of your creation. A place so beautiful our minds truly have yet to comprehend what is beyond all of our reason. Thank you for this sound.

I am reminded that question needs to be as light as the feathers. Let my faith be as strong as the wind that guides the flock to the places that you’ve already claimed home. Thank you for the pleasure in existence, my spirit lifts. With fresh eyes and a beating heart, through your knowing and my unknown – my song will be heard to align in perfect understanding.

To those who woke and did not hear a song, I pray that their inner musician and creation flees. For those around me, I pray that they too find poetry and prose. A message so beautiful they are moved and will be blossoming in devotion. For those in worry, I pray that they release and move forward in trust. For those who are feeling small, I pray that somewhere within their heart they are comforted by your craft, knowing that not one part of them wasn’t touched with design and reason. For those who are feeling alone, guide them into a sanctuary of safety to where they feel heard. Show me the way to this gathering as I wish to speak through you. For those who feel you – let them be brave enough to speak and share, their voice will be heard by those who are seeking. And for those who are seeking, I pray that they come across an avenue that gives validation. For those who need a blessing, I pray that their reflection whispers “you already are one.” For those hoping to be heard, I pray that they step into conversation through you – this way they will move forward in confidence. For those wishing to be elsewhere, I pray that they find comfort in the present knowing that if elsewhere was meant, it would be. You tilt your head in approval and lay perfection upon us, let us feel confident in the life you have planned. Let us laugh, grasp and devour the joy throughout any struggle, for it is all part of our growth.

I pray that we continue to gather like the birds in the morning. Let us come together to become closer to you. The gift of a morning, the birds in the trees, I am welcomed by you. Let us continue on with our days feeling loved, because we are – and loving, because we are capable.

Amen

This life. Our life. Your life. My life.

Look around you. Do you like what you see? Are your surroundings making you feel alive? What is shaping you? What is continuing to feed you? What are you able to offer because of it? Are you proud to be surrounded by what you encounter?

It’s inevitable, one day we will no longer be here… But for now you will find that we take up space, exist in an environment and make choices the second we wake. Do we live each day embracing the fact that all of this could be taken away? Do we choose to think positive thoughts that gleam out of our faces like sun beams that others can bask in… do we listen to music that make our souls come alive and have no choice but to dance… do we look at people with admiration for their unique craft, without judgement and offer a smile that can change their day… Do we cry without regret as it is a reminder that we are alive and capable of emotions that will shift… Do we laugh without worry that someone else may hear even if we are alone… Do we express in fearlessness and without approval… Do we continue to love when we’ve been hurt… Every morning, afternoon and night there is beauty to find. The sun rises to give us another chance, the afternoon settles us into existence with support to keep going. The night leads us home with guiding stars that never ask for anything in return.

To me, life is about taking risks to receive the small rewards and the greatest luxuries by simply being alive. Feeling it all form into a masterpiece of existence. I’ve never focused all of my reward on a shiny gold metal or judgement by someone else who says “I approve” or “you made it” – but rather small and free moments that warm my heart in a way nothing materialistic or bought can.

Time is now. One of the many things I’ve learned in this life is that we have control over one thing, now. The only thing we have control over our past is the time it steals in our present. The only thing we have control over our future is the freedom we give it currently. There is a balance between risk and grace, once we let go and take a stand in the now… everything falls into place. Taking a step back can really be making a move forward.

By taking a step back right now… What do you notice? What do you feel? What would make it better? Who can you forgive? What no longer needs to be remembered? Who needs a prayer? Here and now breathe in the present knowing one day you wont have it. Continue forward on choosing what will enhance this life. Our life. Your life. My life. Wake with trust and faith – knowing that everyday is a miracle for us to be given a chance to feel. To love. To see. To hear. To make a change. To risk. To stay. To leave. To take a stand.

Growing and Glowing

Something within me is blossoming. Something within me is bursting. An ignition of fire, blazing and setting me apart from the dark cold of the world. I feel like an existing balance of calm and wild forestry. A temperature rising, a hissing of what is calling me by the name. I must continue to gather all these elements that keep me burning. Growing. Glowing.

It begins with a source of fuel.

Deep within our heart and soul, a source of fuel waits fearlessly. Ready to ignite in a powerful light of everything that remains within us. Let it catch fire. You will find people unable to look away, unable to deny the warmth of what is offered.

Share your light. By sharing your light you are allowing your truth to shine. Courage is given to others that also wish to share their own.

Live fearlessly. Be felt in places you know you are desired.

Show what you are capable of.

Express what you feel. Let it soar and sizzle.

Your warmth is a gift as much as it is a power. Feel unafraid to rise in passion and you will be rewarded with sparks. Something that is created from chaos, can float away like a dream… dancing in the wind…

Your glow will be undeniable. Embers will remain to remind you of your luminosity. Warmth remains as you are reminded who gathers around you to feel your heat. What comes back for more? Who craves the sensation and light you offer? Continue to shine, even when questions go unanswered. Naturally you will attract what is meant to feel your intensity.

After you burn. After you share. After you express. After you glow. You must look up. In a breeze you will find the foundation of what will never be forgotten. Ash.

Enhancing by Choice

To be creative means to be in love with life… People are walking exteriors of unique ingredients. We are a place of expression, a sanctuary of thoughts that are crafted by the artist within us. We have a choice to wake up and use our hands to make something beautiful. To use our mind to radiate warm energy. To use our words to inspire hearts to beat. To use our sound to make rhythm easy. To use our eyes to see the light. And so on.

Thank life for being so giving. How blessed are we to have the choice of what we taste? What we allow. How we can perceive challenges as lessons to be learned…

In each day I want to be seen for my energy. I want to be felt for graceful movement. I want to be heard by what I radiate when words are not spoken… And when words are spoken I want to be a sensation of born emotions. I have a choice in waking up and making the most out of the life I was given. I have a choice in enhancing life by giving the gift that was born within me, my creativity.

We can all be creative. Creativity is not a gift that one is born without. We can find it within us, each one of us. It depends on us – are we going to be a supplier of what lays beneath the surface? Creativity is not always a physical creation that we make in front of us but an intangible specialty. Create with your thoughts, your love and the emotion others can walk away with. Create even if results are not immediate. A process is often required for a masterpiece to blossom.

Perfect a tilted object in the way only your magic allows. Reach out until you are satisfied. Give something your touch, you were meant to adjust subjects that call to you. If we have a motive or a dream that entails shifting then we must step foot in it’s path. This desire is not placed with coincidence. Your magic is calling. Your creation is answering.

“Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness?”

“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”

Intentional Truth

“You never have anything to lose by being yourself.” -My Mother

My Mom holds and expresses many forms of beauty, but these words will forever have a special place in my heart. It’s true, we will not lose anything by being ourselves, we can only gain truth, genuine reaction and inner peace. In a world full of temptation and persuasion holding on to our true selves is an art. In a world full of people, choose yourself and let the rest adjust. When you walk in your aura of uniqueness – that only you have the magic of, you are most powerful.

Speak clearly and release your truths, be attracted to what gives you sensual feeling, love yourself toughly – this means to pick yourself up when you feel discouraged. Give yourself all the encouragement you need in the places only you know you really need. You know the change that needs to be done in order to be you, to feel good and most importantly to be easier on yourself. You are fearsome when you are open. Not only enthralling but inspirational. Show others how easy it is, with or without acceptance to be unapologetic for who you are… what your style is, how you feel, who you love and anything else that makes you a walking portfolio of all things that fill you.

By being yourself is to be vulnerable. Vulnerability alone has been a challenge for me most of my life. Although vulnerability has given me some of my greatest reward and experience, it feels like a risk. I suppose it is – but what is life without it? Let vulnerability ignite you instead of scare you. This is what makes you human – and in other words… fascinating.

This isn’t an easy task to take on. Showing up in exactly who your heart and soul tells you to be is like walking into a place and silence. Eyes are on you. Judgments are being made. Words expressed. Thoughts held. Remember this one thing… You will carry on. And you will do so in luxury.

Allow yourself to love yourself.

“What is done in love, is done well.” -Vincent Van Gogh

“She writes things with her movements that I for the life of me could never write with a pen.” -Christopher Poindexter

Come morning I stretch my body in the length of my bed. The natural light is my motivation to rise. Another day. The warm water runs down my skin and I become ready in the present. Breathing alive. I don’t have to part my lips to explain my truths. I embody them.

We all embody something.

My proudest truth that I embody is all the admiration that lives within me. Throughout the day I find art – in movement, in silence and in noise. I soak in my environment and love cultural differences. I want to taste everything and appreciate the familiar or the uniqueness. I find myself dancing to all music and singing in languages I have yet to understand. I am a living sponge, absorbing all.

Judgement closes opportunity. Judgement can be a dangerous and false pathway. In order to find the truth in a setting, person or story – you must experience it for yourself. Dig to the roots, find the reason, listen to the noise. Most importantly, admire and wish to learn the unedited version. The raw version.

“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, “Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner.” I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.” -Carl R. Rogers

The craft that something is made with is miraculous. Difference itself is an intense force. I feel for this. There is a certain truth I cannot get enough of… Honest depth, true emotion and genuine intention is the core of attraction.

Some people, places and emotions are so beautiful it’s hard to assign words. Do yourself a favor. Let all of it take your breath away.

Remember these moments. Seek them more. Be the truth you wish to find. Admire by closing your eyes or opening your eyes. Hold on tight and let it embody you. Let it all sink in. The amount of words you thought you needed to explain… the amount of change you thought you desired… the judgement you placed… it can all drop to a breathtaking zero.

Courageous Illumination

Be with me because I am with you…

JOURNAL ENTRY

February 4th

It’s interesting, sometimes I write to get out of my head and sometimes I write to get into my head. Tonight I do not know which I need. Some nights I become more anxious than others. This is when I pray for courage – faith becomes present and I understand again. Purpose is real while coincidence is not. Reason is held by what we experience and the experience itself is filled with reason. Sometimes this makes me uncomfortable, sometimes I rather stay in and hide from all existence. It’s in moments like this that I pray for courage. Courage to relax. Courage to continue. Courage to express. Courage to release. Courage to be. Courage to step out. And courage to illuminate –

A moment of silence follows where my pen has stopped… I sit back and look at the word I had just written.

Illuminate… I am taken back as I know this was not the word I was planning on writing.

Whenever I pray for courage I think of the last conversation I had with my father before he committed suicide. We joked about the kind of man he would like me to grow up and be with.. I listened to stories I’ve never heard before as we sat together eating Chinese take out. He looked at me and told me if I ever feel like I am falling down to pray… He said I will give you all the courage you need. I didn’t know then what I do now, that in that moment he was telling me, to trust in his guardianship.

For a long time I’ve had a hard time expressing myself openly. Although it is a passion of mine and a need like breathing, I create in silence.

Tonight I was creating in silence until he wrote. Illuminate…

Illumination is defined by throwing light upon, making something brighter, it is to decorate with gold and silver. Illuminate by illustrating, enhancing and highlighting. Illumination is to be intellectually or spiritually enlightened… and that I am.

To illuminate is to be seen.

To illuminate is to be heard.

To illuminate is to be a flood light showing others that they too are in view of admiring eyes and they too are being listened to.

That they too will be blessed with courage.

Sunday Best

Where your treasure is – your heart will be also. Each day of the week I focus on walking in faith… In my waking hour I thank God for another day. A deep breath in and a long exhale, I rise.

We all have something within us that is ready to radiate. A beauty, an art, an actual energy. The best part about this is we have a choice to wake up and be a steward to this blessing.

Sunday will forever be my favorite day of the week – not just because I begin the day surrounded by others who devote themselves to our Lord but because it’s the day that my soul feels most alive. In one day, the week prior comes to rest and the week ahead comes alive. I reflect and I rejoice.

Balanced.

Today and this week, dig deep and let your inner being float to the surface. Allow yourself to step into the blessing you are. See and feel your authenticity rushing through your veins and radiating into existence as something to feel.

You are felt. You are worth it. You are loved. You are beautifully made. Now rest – in your Sunday best.

“I am going to make everything around me beautiful – that will be my life.” -Elsie de Wolfe

Standing in the middle of a city, I am one with noise and distraction in every direction. Can you imagine finding peace in the middle of chaos? Footsteps follow my thoughts and I am in a world of my own, yet here to share it with others. Looking within and past my reflection, I see artists moving slowly and accurately in their own craft. Electrifying music escapes into the air around me and the sensual view is taken in. A studio of creators, a place to safely express and room to strive.

There is zero pressure here. Like the others, they too have something to share. I make my way into this life by beginning to create. I enter a space everyday whether I enter it as one or with others – I enter.

I stand for authentic movement. True connection. A pathway to be our most passionate selves. I stand for a home to feel in accompany with others and most importantly my own heart, mind and soul.

I write here today, to share with you. As I begin Studio Strive you will experience a place of expression, connection and the art of soulful interaction.
